This song started on my way from Asheville, NC to Atlanta, GA.  That bit of road has been very prolific for my songwriting.  I was on a stretch of 85 when I started this one.  The sky was grey and my eyes kept looking up, following the power lines as I went, thinking of my mother's father, Ben, who I never met.  Right here is the starting place that you've been missing.  Seems like the perfect way to start my first album.  And it's always true.

Lyrics

Not 10 Miles under the ground, you can stop your digging.

Not way up over a cloud, come off your ladder and quit your reaching.

What is it you are looking for? You seem willing to give up the seat of your core.

Could it be that it’s right here?

Right here

Is the starting place that you’ve been missing.

Right here.

Right here, open your eyes, let your ears listen.

It’s what you need, it’s right here.

It’s what you need, it’s right here.

Where have you been going?

Who’re you trying to prove yourself to?

Time is not waiting, so do what you have to do.

Not 10 miles under the ground, you can stop your digging

Cause it’s not his, it’s not hers, it’s your life you need to be living

The shape of your heart, the play of your mind

Is there something else you were trying to find?

Could it be that it’s right here?

Could it be that it’s right here?
