In 2014, I entered theology graduate school and ended up studying the blues as an entrance to the Psalms of lament. I had some serious heartache and the songs I was writing were balm to my soul. I also had experiences with Jesus carrying me when I could not walk, more visceral and true than anything I had known before. These songs helped me walk with Jesus through years of studying the only Psalm that doesn't resolve into praise: Psalm 88. 

That study became my Masters Thesis: In Belief of Tears: American Blues as an Entrance into the Psalms of Lament. There are additional songs that have been written since then, some more blantantly spiritual than others. My hope is that this album invites the listener to connect with God and feel God's love through each song.

Mike Alexander and I are recording these songs with Chris Rosser at Hollow Reed Studio in Asheville, NC. We hope to be able to release this album in the fall of 2026. There are options for pre-ordering just the album via download or a physical copy which includes the digital download. There is also an option to host a house concert or just give a donation.
